This library is accessed by film professionals, including producers, directors, production designers and location managers. They search this library looking for filming locations that suit the script they are working with. If you choose to, you can go to the Ontario Creates website and upload your own photos and submit them yourself to Ontario Creates library.

What to expect once your home or property is on the Ontario Creates library?

Once your property or business is listed on the Ontario Creates library, it can be viewed by industry professionals who are working on movies, television shows, commercials, music videos and stills photography shoots. If your home is selected by a project, you would typically be contacted by a Location Manager to check your current availability. They may ask to scout the property with members from of the production team. If your property is selected by the production,  the location manager will contact you to discuss specifics.
The price varies depending on several factors. (i.e., size of property, type of property etc.) Prices for a home can range from $500 to $5,000 per day or more depending on the property. Typically filming would consist of prep day(s), shoot day(s) and wrap day(s). Property owners can be paid a flat rate for all days, or the rate can be broken up into day rates. Typically, the prep and wrap days are ½ of the filming day rate.
You may be to asked relocate by production if the scope of work necessitates. The decision is made mutually by the Location Manager and the property owner and depends on many factors. If you are asked to relocate, you should be offered compensation by the company.
Projects vary and certain locations are more appealing than others. Submitting your property to Ontario Creates does not automatically mean your property will be selected for filming.

Most production company names will sound unfamiliar because the company is created for the project. There will usually be a studio or larger production company associated. If at any point you wish to verify the legitimacy of a production company or location manager who has approached you, Ontario Creates can assist with verification.

The amount of time actually changes, according to Ontario Creates workload. Typically it can take 4-8 weeks.

If you register as a location contact on the Ontario Creates website you will be able to view your photo file under your profile.
